Andreas Wilhelm
Andreas Wilhelm is a Swiss perfumer and scent artist based in Zurich, and the perfumer credited on every fragrance in the current range of the Basel house Pernoire. His career began in 1993 at Givaudan in Dübendorf, where he discovered perfumery while training as a chemical laboratory technician in organic synthesis. In 1999 he completed his perfumer training at Luzi, and he later worked with companies including Seluz, Weleda, Sensient Fragrances, Eurofragance and Scentronix.
In 2008 he founded his own studio, Wilhelm Perfume, in Zurich, where he develops perfumes and scent signatures for brands, cultural projects and private clients. He works with both natural and synthetic raw materials. His creations have won the Swiss Fragrance Foundation Award for Gisada Donna and an Art and Olfaction Award for Fuchsrot by Bodé Studio.
For Pernoire, Wilhelm works closely with founders Robin Dünner and Nico Mannino, translating a feeling or story into a composition through repeated rounds of feedback. The results span many styles: the fruity chypre Anelo, the minty-alpine Yuma, the popcorn gourmand Poka, the moonlit white floral Luvani, the durian-oud Oudian, the aquatic Vitias, the smoky Amoral, the fruity Naki, the leathery Kama, the rose-oud Mansa, the amber-spicy Masar, the rum-and-oud Tierra and the tobacco-praline Otimo.
If you like one Pernoire fragrance, exploring the others by the same perfumer is an easy way to find your next favourite. Each is offered here at Redolia Perfumery as a full 50 ml bottle.
