Description
What it smells like
Iggywoo Cherry Love Extreme is a cherry fragrance in which the cherry is deliberately not the lead. The house describes it as cherry rewritten, used as a backdrop rather than a headline, and the composition bears that out: what you notice first is spice.
Pink pepper and clove open it, sharp and dry, with the cherry arriving underneath as a dark fruit rather than a sweet one. Rose and violet sit in the heart — the brand uses its own rose accord — and together with the clove they give the middle of the fragrance an almost old-fashioned, apothecary quality.
The base is where it gets its weight: patchouli, amber, ambroxan and musk, earthy and resinous and quite persistent. The community's accord ranking is warm spicy first, then patchouli, cherry, musky and woody, which is a good map of the wearing experience. The cherry is real and present, but it is the third thing you notice, not the first.
Worth knowing: this fragrance was originally released as Love Extreme in 2024 and renamed Cherry Love Extreme by the house in 2026. It is the same composition, so older reviews under the previous name still apply.
Who made it
Every Iggywoo fragrance is composed by Richard Saint-Ford, the house's British founder and its only perfumer. He is self-taught, with no conservatory training and no training house behind him, and he treats that as the point rather than a gap — the press has taken to calling him the heretic perfumer.
Before perfumery he spent close to twenty years in fashion and beauty as a creative and marketing director and later a CMO. His method starts with mood boards, music and imagined landscapes rather than with raw materials, which is why the Iggywoo scents tend to read as a place or a mood first and a note list second. Cherry Love Extreme first appeared in 2024 under the name Love Extreme and was renamed by the house in 2026.
Who it's for
For anyone tired of sweet cherry fragrances. The category has been dominated by cherry-cola and cherry-liqueur treatments, and this is the spiced, patchouli-heavy alternative to all of them.
It suits people who already wear warm spicy or patchouli-forward scents and want a fruit note handled with restraint. If you like dark roses, this will make sense to you immediately. It is the heaviest and most assertive fragrance in the Iggywoo line — Pistachio Voodoo Child and Cashmere Show Pony are both considerably softer.
Unisex, though the clove-and-patchouli structure is the kind traditionally coded masculine, worn here with a rose heart that pulls the other way.
When to wear it
Cold weather. The patchouli and amber base needs cool air; in summer heat the spice becomes insistent. Autumn and winter are where it belongs.
Evening, and dressed-up evenings in particular — special occasions, dinners, romantic evenings. It has the most projection of anything in the range, so it suits occasions where being noticed is the point. It is not an office fragrance and not an everyday one.
About the house
Iggywoo is an independent house founded in Los Angeles in 2024 by Richard Saint-Ford, a British self-taught perfumer who spent nearly two decades in fashion and beauty before composing anything. The name comes from a word he and his grandmother used for imagination; she raised him, made scents from the plants around her, and baked for a living, and he started the house after a year away following her death.
The house works to a simple brief: take a familiar idea and refuse the obvious version of it. That is why the pistachio is not a dessert, the cherry sits behind the clove, and the vanilla never reaches the bakery. Every fragrance shares one flacon, a squat clear bottle under a tall stepped white cap, with the wordmark set in mirrored type. Browse the full Iggywoo collection at Redolia.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
