Description
What it smells like
Iggywoo Pistachio Voodoo Child is a pistachio fragrance that deliberately avoids dessert. Where most pistachio scents reach for sugar, syrup and a bakery finish, this one treats the nut as a delicate natural material and surrounds it with flowers. Pistachio opens the composition on its own, green and faintly milky rather than sweet.
The heart is where the character sits. Lily and jasmine give it a powdered, slightly waxy white-floral quality, and praline adds just enough warmth to keep the nut legible without tipping into confectionery. The brand names the lily specifically as the Voodoo Dancer varietal, which is where the fragrance gets its name.
The base returns to pistachio, now folded into vanilla and sandalwood for a creamy, soft-wood finish. Fragrantica's community ranks the accords white floral first by a clear margin, then sweet, vanilla, woody and nutty — which is a fair description of how it wears. The white floral leads; the nut supports.
Expect moderate projection and a long, close drydown. It is a gourmand by ingredient but not by behaviour.
Who made it
Every Iggywoo fragrance is composed by Richard Saint-Ford, the house's British founder and its only perfumer. He is self-taught, with no conservatory training and no training house behind him, and he treats that as the point rather than a gap — the press has taken to calling him the heretic perfumer.
Before perfumery he spent close to twenty years in fashion and beauty as a creative and marketing director and later a CMO. His method starts with mood boards, music and imagined landscapes rather than with raw materials, which is why the Iggywoo scents tend to read as a place or a mood first and a note list second. Pistachio Voodoo Child arrived in 2025 and is the most highly reviewed of his compositions.
Who it's for
This is for anyone who likes the idea of pistachio but has been put off by how sugary most of them are. If you find the gourmand shelf exhausting, this is the version that treats the nut as a raw material rather than a flavour.
It also works for white-floral wearers approaching from the other direction: the jasmine and lily are doing most of the visible work, and the pistachio reads as a creamy texture underneath. Within the Iggywoo line it is the softest and the most conventionally pretty — Cherry Love Extreme is darker, Fantasma Overglow is brighter and sharper.
It is unisex and wears that way, with no obvious lean in either direction.
When to wear it
A cool-weather fragrance more than a warm one, though the florals keep it from being heavy. Autumn and winter suit it best, and it holds up through spring. Heat pushes the praline and vanilla forward, which some people will enjoy and others will find too rich.
It leans daytime and everyday rather than evening. It is comfortable at an office desk, at a long lunch, or on any day you want something soft and close rather than announced. For dinner or a date it works, but it whispers rather than carries across a table.
About the house
Iggywoo is an independent house founded in Los Angeles in 2024 by Richard Saint-Ford, a British self-taught perfumer who spent nearly two decades in fashion and beauty before composing anything. The name comes from a word he and his grandmother used for imagination; she raised him, made scents from the plants around her, and baked for a living, and he started the house after a year away following her death.
The house works to a simple brief: take a familiar idea and refuse the obvious version of it. That is why the pistachio is not a dessert, the cherry sits behind the clove, and the vanilla never reaches the bakery. Every fragrance shares one flacon, a squat clear bottle under a tall stepped white cap, with the wordmark set in mirrored type. Browse the full Iggywoo collection at Redolia.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
