Description
What it smells like
Iggywoo Cashmere Show Pony is a coconut-and-musk scent that sits much closer to skin than its ingredient list suggests. The house describes it as skin musk with woody coconut husk, and the emphasis on husk rather than flesh is the important part — this is dry coconut, the shell and fibre, not the sweet white interior.
Coconut leads, with passion flower giving it a transparent, slightly green floral lift. Fragrantica's note list also includes cotton candy and sugar, and this is where the fragrance divides opinion: the brand explicitly says it leaves sweetness behind, while the community's top-ranked accord is sweet, followed by coconut, floral, tropical and fruity. Both readings are defensible. What is on skin is a creamy tropical accord whose sweetness depends a great deal on your own threshold.
The base is cashmere wood and white musk — soft, slightly powdery, and the reason the whole thing stays close and sheer instead of turning into a beach gourmand.
It is the most-voted fragrance in the Iggywoo range by a considerable margin, which tells you it is the one people try first.
Who made it
Every Iggywoo fragrance is composed by Richard Saint-Ford, the house's British founder and its only perfumer. He is self-taught, with no conservatory training and no training house behind him, and he treats that as the point rather than a gap — the press has taken to calling him the heretic perfumer.
Before perfumery he spent close to twenty years in fashion and beauty as a creative and marketing director and later a CMO. His method starts with mood boards, music and imagined landscapes rather than with raw materials, which is why the Iggywoo scents tend to read as a place or a mood first and a note list second. Cashmere Show Pony launched in 2024 and has drawn more community votes than any other Iggywoo scent.
Who it's for
For people who like coconut but not suntan lotion. The husk-and-musk treatment keeps it from going tropical-holiday, and the cashmere wood base gives it a softness that works year round.
It is a good choice if you wear skin musks and want something with a little more character, or if you like lactonic, creamy scents. Be aware of the sweetness question above: if you are highly sensitive to sweet accords, try before committing. Within the house it is the sheerest and most casual — Lost In Vanillatopia is warmer, Bohemian Water sharper.
Unisex, and the brand positions it as deliberately seasonless.
When to wear it
Genuinely all year, which is unusual and is the house's stated intent. It is light enough for summer and the musk base gives it enough body for winter.
Everyday wear is where it makes most sense — it is sheer enough for an office and soft enough to wear without thinking about it. It works for daytime above all, and in the evening it reads as relaxed rather than dressed up. A good choice when you want to smell like a better version of yourself rather than like a fragrance.
About the house
Iggywoo is an independent house founded in Los Angeles in 2024 by Richard Saint-Ford, a British self-taught perfumer who spent nearly two decades in fashion and beauty before composing anything. The name comes from a word he and his grandmother used for imagination; she raised him, made scents from the plants around her, and baked for a living, and he started the house after a year away following her death.
The house works to a simple brief: take a familiar idea and refuse the obvious version of it. That is why the pistachio is not a dessert, the cherry sits behind the clove, and the vanilla never reaches the bakery. Every fragrance shares one flacon, a squat clear bottle under a tall stepped white cap, with the wordmark set in mirrored type. Browse the full Iggywoo collection at Redolia.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
