L'Epoque Parfums: A Complete Guide to Every Fragrance (2026)

L'Epoque Parfums Dopamine Rose, Serotonin Spritz, Inner Child and Dreams and Nightmares bottles

L'Epoque Parfums is an American niche perfume house founded in 2025 by Rachel Green in Dallas, Texas, and it does one thing no other house on our shelves does: it sells nothing but 30 ml bottles, all at $125. Green spent roughly a decade in the beauty industry before starting it, and says she built the brand to close the gap between the way fragrance brands talk online and the way people actually wear scent. The compositions come from serious hands — Elena Valdivieso Ruiz of Robertet, and on one of them, IFF Master Perfumer Carlos Benaïm with Laurent Le Guernec. We carry four of the five fragrances at Redolia, and this guide covers each one.

The story of L'Epoque Parfums

The house launched in the late summer of 2025 with two releases about a month apart, Delusions of Grandeur in August and Dopamine Rose in September. Three more followed through 2026. That is a fast start for an independent, and the names tell you the register the brand is working in — this is a house that titles a fragrance Serotonin Spritz and writes product copy that opens "you were online for eleven hours today."

The 30 ml decision is the part worth understanding before you buy. Most houses treat a small bottle as a trial size and charge you more per millilitre for the privilege. L'Epoque only makes the small bottle, and frames it as the point: a fragrance is for right now, for the version of you that exists in this moment, and the bottle should be finished and left behind rather than kept half-full for a decade. Whatever you make of the philosophy, the practical effect is real — $125 buys you a full bottle of work by people whose other formulas sell for three times that.

Which brings us to the perfumers, because this is where a new house usually gives itself away and this one does not. Three of the four we carry are by Elena Valdivieso Ruiz, a Robertet perfumer whose work includes the Rose 175 and Mimosa 175 compositions made for that house's 175th anniversary. The fourth, Serotonin Spritz, is credited to Carlos Benaïm with Laurent Le Guernec. Benaïm spent fifty years at IFF as a Master Perfumer and is the nose behind Polo and Polo Blue, Flowerbomb, Euphoria, White Diamonds and Spicebomb, with nine Fragrance Foundation awards and a lifetime achievement award to go with them. A Dallas startup in its second year getting that signature on a bottle is the single most interesting fact about this house.

Every L'Epoque Parfums fragrance we carry, explained

All four are 30 ml. All four are $125. Three are eau de parfum at 20% concentration; Dopamine Rose is the extrait. The one we do not stock is Delusions of Grandeur, the August 2025 debut.

L'Epoque Parfums Dopamine Rose Extrait de Parfum

Notes: raspberry marshmallow, strawberry, rhubarb · rose, cyclamen, ozonic notes · cashmere, musk. Perfumer: Elena Valdivieso Ruiz. Released: 2025. Price: $125 / 30 ml extrait.

The bottle customers reach for first, and the one that made the house's name. It takes a rose and refuses to be serious about it: raspberry marshmallow and strawberry arrive before the flower does, rhubarb keeps the fruit tart rather than jammy, and the rose that follows is plush and candied instead of formal. Cyclamen and an ozonic thread stop it collapsing into syrup, and it finishes soft on cashmere and musk.

What surprised us when the testers arrived was the texture — the marshmallow note gives it a fluffy, full-bodied feel that most fruity roses never manage. It is also the only extrait in the range, which shows in how long the drydown holds.

Best for: spring, daytime, date night. Anyone who finds classic rose perfumes too stately. See how it sits against the rest of our rose selection. Shop Dopamine Rose.

L'Epoque Parfums Serotonin Spritz Eau de Parfum

Notes: grapefruit, pink pepper, pomelo zest · tequila accord, thyme, geranium, cassis leaf · watery musk, cedarwood, amber. Perfumer: Carlos Benaïm and Laurent Le Guernec. Released: 2026. Price: $125 / 30 ml.

The one with the famous signature on it, and you can tell. Grapefruit and pomelo zest open it sharp and bitter-bright, pink pepper adds fizz, and then a tequila accord comes through with thyme and cassis leaf — green, saline, faintly herbal, more agave than alcohol. The base is watery musk with cedarwood and amber underneath, which is what keeps it from evaporating the way cheap citrus does.

Reviewers keep using the word polished about this one, and comparing the smoothness to houses several price brackets up. That is what fifty years of formula-building buys. It is also the only fragrance in our entire shop with a tequila accord in it.

Best for: summer, daytime, the office. Anyone who wants a citrus that survives past lunch. Work by the same nose sits on our Carlos Benaïm page. Shop Serotonin Spritz.

L'Epoque Parfums Inner Child Eau de Parfum

Notes: linen, bergamot · freesia, vanilla, lily of the valley · white wood, birch wood, skin musk. Perfumer: Elena Valdivieso Ruiz. Released: 2026. Price: $125 / 30 ml.

The quietest thing the house makes, deliberately. Linen and bergamot open it clean rather than fresh — think laundry off the line, not citrus cologne — and freesia, lily of the valley and a thread of vanilla fill the middle without ever raising their voice. White wood, birch and skin musk finish it close to the body.

Be clear-eyed about performance before you buy: reviewers consistently call it a skin scent with low projection, and some report it fading inside an hour. That is the brief being executed, not a flaw in the juice — but if you judge a $125 bottle by hours on skin, this is the wrong one to start with. If you like fragrances that only the person hugging you can smell, it is the right one.

Best for: spring, everyday, close quarters. Shop Inner Child.

L Epoque Parfums Dreams and Nightmares eau de parfum in a clear 30 ml bottle with a black cap
L Epoque Dreams and Nightmares — cardamom and eucalyptus over petrichor, wet earth and moss.

L'Epoque Parfums Dreams and Nightmares Eau de Parfum

Notes: pink pepper, cardamom, eucalyptus, bergamot · patchouli, petrichor, wet earth · moss, amber woods. Perfumer: Elena Valdivieso Ruiz. Released: 2026. Price: $125 / 30 ml.

The dark one, and the strongest performer of the four. Cardamom and eucalyptus give it a cold, medicinal snap at the top, which is genuinely unusual over a chypre structure. Then it turns damp: patchouli, petrichor and wet earth, the smell of rain landing on a path. Moss and amber woods hold the base and keep it dry rather than muddy.

It is the fragrance in the range that behaves least like a 2026 release — there is an old-school green-chypre bone structure under the modern framing. Reviewers who find Inner Child underwhelming tend to name this one as the reason to take the house seriously.

Best for: autumn and winter, evenings out, the office in cold months. Shop Dreams and Nightmares.

Which L'Epoque Parfums fragrance should you choose?

Start with Serotonin Spritz if you want the clearest demonstration of what the house can do. It is the best-built thing here and the easiest to wear, and at $125 it is the cheapest Carlos Benaïm bottle you will find anywhere.

Start with Dopamine Rose if sweet and fruity is your register — it is the extrait, it lasts longest, and it does not smell like the other fruity roses on the market. Start with Dreams and Nightmares if you already own plenty of crowd-pleasers and want the strange one.

Sample Inner Child rather than buying it blind. It is the only one of the four where we would say that plainly. The composition is lovely and the performance is deliberately minimal, and those two facts together make it a bottle you should meet in person first.

One more thing the 30 ml format changes: because there is no larger size to graduate to, owning two of these costs less than one 100 ml bottle from most houses we carry. That makes building a small L'Epoque wardrobe a more reasonable proposition than it sounds.

Frequently asked questions

Is L'Epoque Parfums worth it?

At $125 for 30 ml it is priced like a niche house rather than a new one, and the case for it rests on who composes the juice: Elena Valdivieso Ruiz of Robertet and, on Serotonin Spritz, IFF Master Perfumer Carlos Benaïm with Laurent Le Guernec. Three of the four are genuinely distinctive. Inner Child is the one to sample before buying, because its performance is deliberately quiet.

Who is behind L'Epoque Parfums?

Rachel Green founded the house in Dallas, Texas, after roughly a decade working in the beauty industry. She has said she started it to bridge the gap between how fragrance brands talk online and how people actually wear scent. The first two releases, Delusions of Grandeur and Dopamine Rose, came out about a month apart in August and September 2025.

Why does L'Epoque only sell 30 ml bottles?

It is a deliberate decision, not a sampling strategy. The house frames a fragrance as something for right now rather than forever, and sizes the bottle to be finished during the chapter of your life it belongs to. Practically, it also means a full bottle of work by a Master Perfumer costs $125 instead of $300.

What does L'Epoque Dopamine Rose smell like?

Raspberry marshmallow, strawberry and rhubarb open it, then rose and cyclamen arrive over an ozonic lift, and it settles on cashmere and musk. It reads as a plush, candied modern rose rather than a formal one — the marshmallow gives it a fluffy, full-bodied feel. It is the only Extrait de Parfum in the range.

Does L'Epoque Inner Child last long?

No, and that is the honest answer. Reviewers consistently describe it as a skin scent with low projection, with some reporting it fading within about an hour. It is built that way — linen, freesia and skin musk over white woods — but if you measure value in hours on skin, this is not the bottle to start with.

Which L'Epoque fragrance is best for summer?

Serotonin Spritz. Grapefruit, pomelo zest and pink pepper open it, a tequila accord and thyme carry the middle, and watery musk, cedarwood and amber hold the base. It is the one built for heat and daylight, and it is the only fragrance we stock with a tequila accord in it.

Is L'Epoque Parfums unisex?

Yes, all four are sold unisex, and the house does not gender-code its packaging or copy. Dopamine Rose is the sweetest and Dreams and Nightmares the darkest, but none of them is aimed at one aisle.

What is a good alternative to Dopamine Rose if I want something less sweet?

Stay in the house and take Dreams and Nightmares, which uses the same 30 ml format but goes in the opposite direction — pink pepper and cardamom over patchouli, petrichor and wet earth, finishing on moss and amber woods. If you want the rose itself without the candy, our wider rose selection has drier options at every price.

All four bottles live on our L'Epoque Parfums collection page, and the three by Elena Valdivieso Ruiz are gathered on her perfumer page. If you are within reach of central New Jersey, all four are open on the counter at our Somerville boutique. For more on how we think about starting a niche collection, see our beginner's guide.
