Elena Valdivieso Ruiz

Elena Valdivieso Ruiz is a perfumer with the Robertet Group, the Grasse-based house founded in 1850 that is known above all for natural raw materials. She works from Robertet's New York office, and community databases currently credit her with roughly sixteen commercially released fragrances.

Her best-known work is for the American niche house L'Epoque Parfums, where she has composed most of the range in collaboration with founder Rachel Green. The house gives her an emotional brief rather than a technical one, and she builds the composition around it. At Redolia Perfumery we carry three of her L'Epoque fragrances: Dopamine Rose, a fast-blooming sweet rose with raspberry marshmallow and strawberry; Inner Child, a clean linen and freesia scent with a soft white-wood and skin-musk base; and Dreams and Nightmares, an earthy woody chypre built on patchouli, petrichor and wet earth.

Taken together, those three show a perfumer comfortable at both ends of a range: gourmand-adjacent sweetness on one side, damp earth and moss on the other, with a shared preference for clear, legible structures and soft, skin-close drydowns.
