Description
What it smells like
La Mar is House of Bō’s best-seller and cult favourite — a sultry, milky marine floral. It opens with fresh sea-salt notes, creamy gardenia and a lift of pink pepper, glistening with solar energy.
The heart is a lush white bouquet of Indian tuberose and jasmine Sambac warmed by spicy ginger. The base is irresistibly creamy, with coconut, almond milk and soft olibanum. It is a sun-warmed, milky-floral aquatic — effortlessly sensual and radiant, like skin after a day at the beach.
The full composition runs from top notes of Sea Salt, Gardenia, Pink Pepper, through a heart of Tuberose, Jasmine, Ginger, to a base of Coconut, Almond, Olibanum — a floral built to unfold slowly and wear close to the skin. The parfum is housed in House of Bō's signature bottle, finished with a hand-cut, semi-precious stone cap chosen to mirror the mood of the scent.
On skin its principal accords — Floral, Aquatic, White Floral, Creamy and Marine — layer into a rounded, characterful whole, and as a parfum-strength concentration it is built for rich projection and long wear. It is offered here in both a 40 ml and a larger 75 ml bottle.
As founder Bernardo Möller describes it: “I wanted to recreate the smell of your skin after diving into the ocean wearing an exquisite floral perfume".”
Who made it
This parfum was composed by Rodrigo Flores-Roux, the celebrated Mexican-born perfumer and a senior perfumer at Givaudan. Raised in Mexico City with an early passion for botany, he built a distinguished career in New York and is widely admired for his work on the Arquiste line, Clinique Happy for Men, John Varvatos and Tom Ford's neroli and citrus creations — compositions praised for their vivid naturalism and emotional warmth. His luminous, richly textured signature, often drawing on the flora and light of Latin America, is exactly the sensibility House of Bō was founded to celebrate.
For House of Bō, Rodrigo shaped La Mar as a bold, artistic parfum that translates this pedigree into the house's tropical, Latin-inflected style.
Who it’s for
For lovers of creamy, milky white florals and beachy marine scents. Largely feminine-leaning but a genuine unisex crowd-pleaser.
It suits anyone who loves marine and watery-floral scents with a sensual, transportive quality, and its radiant, skin-warm feel makes it endlessly wearable; fully unisex.
When to wear it
At its best in spring and summer and from day into evening, ideal for warm weather, holidays and sun-drenched days.
It is loveliest in spring and summer and through the day, made for warm weather and holidays, yet its sensual drydown keeps it working into the evening.
About the house
House of Bō is a contemporary niche perfume house founded by Bernardo Möller, its Founder and Creative Director. Its signature DNA is rooted in simplicity, minimalism and spirituality, and it collaborates with some of the world's most accomplished perfumers to create bold, artistic parfums that pair fine materials with a tropical, Latin-inflected sensibility. Each fragrance is presented in a distinctive bottle crowned with a hand-finished, semi-precious stone cap chosen to echo the character of the scent, making the collection as beautiful to display as it is to wear. The house's collection spans fresh citrus, lush florals, plush gourmands and smoky woods, each conceived as a distinct olfactory world. At Redolia Perfumery every House of Bō parfum is offered as a full bottle in two sizes, 40 ml and 75 ml.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
