Description
What it smells like
Hind Al Oud Dubai Mist is an aromatic parfum built around a single idea: the cool, damp air that hangs over the Gulf at first light, before the heat arrives. It opens on bright citrus and verdant aromatics — a lifted, slightly bitter top that reads more like crushed leaves and zest than like a fruit juice. There is no sweetness in the opening at all, which is unusual for an Emirati house and is the first sign that this is a deliberately restrained composition.
The heart is clary sage and violet leaf, and this is where the "mist" of the name becomes literal. Clary sage is herbaceous, faintly tea-like and slightly boozy; violet leaf is green, cucumber-cool and metallic in the best sense. Together they produce a wet, dewy transparency — the smell of a garden at dawn rather than a bouquet.
The base is ambroxan and white suede. Ambroxan supplies the mineral, salty-ambery radiance that makes modern fragrances seem to glow from the skin rather than sit on it, and white suede adds a soft, powdery leather touch that is clean rather than animalic. Together they give Dubai Mist a drydown that is smooth and skin-close, and they are the reason it lasts far longer than a green-aromatic composition usually does. Expect six to eight hours with moderate projection in the first two.
Who made it
Dubai Mist is a Hind Al Oud composition. The house does not credit individual perfumers on any of its releases, so no nose is attributed here rather than guessed at — a policy we apply to every Hind Al Oud listing.
What the house does say is short: bright citrus and verdant aromatics over clary sage and violet leaf, resolving on ambroxan and white suede. It sits in the modern, Western-facing half of the Hind Al Oud catalogue, alongside Alifi, rather than in the oud-and-rose tradition the house is better known for.
Who it's for
This is for people who want something clean and green that still has presence. If you wear aromatic fougères, violet-leaf fragrances or ambroxan-driven modern freshies, Dubai Mist will feel immediately familiar — but the suede in the base gives it a softness that most fragrances in that category lack.
It is also the easiest entry point into Hind Al Oud for anyone who finds Middle-Eastern perfumery too dense. There is no oud here, no amber resin, no rose. It is unisex in the fullest sense: nothing in the composition leans either way, and it reads as well-groomed rather than gendered.
If you want depth, sweetness or a statement fragrance, this is not it. If you want something you can wear every day without thinking about it, it is close to ideal.
When to wear it
Dubai Mist belongs to spring and summer and to daytime. Heat works in its favour: the citrus and violet leaf lift off warm skin, and the ambroxan base becomes more radiant rather than heavier. It suits the office, everyday wear and warm-weather days from morning onwards, and it is clean enough for close quarters.
It carries into the evening comfortably in warm months, though it will not compete with a heavier fragrance in a cold room. Three or four sprays is the right dose — this is a parfum concentration, but a transparent one, and it rewards a slightly generous hand.
About the house
Hind Al Oud is an Emirati perfume house built on the traditional Gulf materials — agarwood, musk, rose and amber — and known for a house style that is rich, long-lasting and unapologetically opulent. Its bottles are as much of the appeal as the juice: heavy faceted glass, crystal-cut caps and gold medallions, presented in boxes designed to be given as well as worn. Alongside the classical oud compositions the house now releases a smaller, more contemporary line — Alifi, Dubai Mist — aimed at wearers who want the same quality of materials in a lighter register. Hind Al Oud does not credit its perfumers publicly, and prices in its home market sit well above mainstream designer perfumery. Dubai Mist Parfum is available at Redolia Perfumery as a full 50 ml bottle.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
