Room 1015

Room 1015 is a Parisian niche house founded by Michael Partouche — known as Dr. Mike, a musician by instinct and a trained pharmacist by education — who built the brand at the junction of those two worlds. The house describes what it does as olfactory counterculture: fragrance as a means of expression rather than decoration, built to celebrate individuality and reject conformity.

The name is a room number. Room 1015 of the Continental Hyatt House on Sunset Strip was the setting for some of rock's most notorious nights, and the house takes it as a shorthand for a particular kind of freedom. In the brand's own words, if counterculture has its own language, literature and sounds, this is an attempt to give it a scent. The line reads that way too, with fragrances named Cherry Punk, Wavechild, Sweet Leaf and Electric Wood rather than after flowers or places.

The bottle is a wide, low cylinder of coloured glass under a faceted gem-cut cap, and the colour changes with the juice: pale green for Wasabi Klub, deep blue for Wavechild, emerald for Sweet Leaf, red for Cherry Punk. The cap is the quickest way to read the concentration — black for the eaux de parfum, silver for the extraits. Each box carries its own illustrated artwork under the house's 1015 mark.

The range is offered in 100 ml and 50 ml, with 10 ml boxed travel sprays for several of the scents and a ten-vial discovery set for anyone working through the line.
