What It Smells Like

Initio Sugar Blast is a creamy vanilla and praline gourmand fragrance. It was launched in 2026 as one of the two scents in the new Supercharged collection, which the house presents as fragrances built around joy and energy.

Fragrantica and Parfumo list seven notes without a top, heart and base structure: vanilla, praline, coconut, rum, ambroxan, cashmeran and lavender. On skin the sweet notes lead from the start.

Vanilla and praline form the core, creamy and nutty, like toasted sugar and almonds. Coconut adds a milky, lactonic softness, and rum gives a warm, boozy lift that keeps the sweetness from feeling flat. Lavender is a small but clever touch: its aromatic freshness cuts through the cream.

The base is ambroxan and cashmeran. Ambroxan is a mineral amber material with a clean, skin-like warmth, and cashmeran is a soft, musky wood note. They make the drydown airy rather than sticky. Fragrantica's community ranks sweet as the leading accord, followed by vanilla, amber, musky and powdery. It is a new release with a small and fairly mixed vote so far: 3.75 out of 5 from about 400 ratings.

Who Made It

Initio does not name the perfumers behind most of its fragrances, and neither Fragrantica nor Parfumo lists one for Sugar Blast. We would rather leave the credit open than guess. The house presents its fragrances as the work of a collective, with the materials and their effect on mood placed ahead of any individual signature.

Who It's For

Sugar Blast is for people who enjoy sweet, comforting, edible fragrances. Fragrantica lists it for women and men.

If you like vanilla, coconut and praline, it is an easy pleasure. If you prefer dry woods or fresh scents, it is not for you, and Wild Rush, its partner in the collection, is the fresher, fruitier of the two. Compared with Narcotic Delight it is lighter, milkier and less dark. The bottle is also different from the rest of the range, a translucent dark flacon instead of the usual opaque one.

When to Wear It

The early Fragrantica votes favour fall and winter, with spring third, and day and night are almost exactly tied. Sweet, creamy notes are most comfortable in cool weather.

Wear it casually, on a cold day, or for an evening out when you want something warm and friendly. Start with two sprays and adjust from there.

About the House

Initio Parfums Privés launched in Paris in 2015 with an unusual premise: that scent acts on mood and attraction before we consciously register it. The fragrances are built around materials chosen for that effect, such as musks, woods, resins and the jasmine-like molecule hedione, and they are grouped into collections with a stated purpose: The Absolutes, The Carnal Blends, The Black Gold Project, the Hedonist collection and Supercharged.

The bottles are heavy, square-shouldered flacons with a metal medallion on the front, and the compositions tend to be concentrated and long-lasting. Initio is a boutique-only house at Redolia.
