What it smells like

Pluie sur Ha Long is an ode to water in all its forms — the emerald sea of Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay, the moisture-heavy mist, and the warm monsoon rain. It opens translucent and juicy, with the crisp bite of nashi pear and rhubarb lifted by a sparkle of pink pepper, an effect so dewy it reads almost like fresh cucumber and falling rain.

The heart blooms into a serene water-garden: lotus, magnolia and watery jasmine drift over a soft rose, luminous and never heady. As it dries the fragrance turns skin-soft and transparent, with clean musk, woody Akigalawood and a modern amber (Ambrofix) giving the aquatic florals a quiet, lasting hum.

Who made it

Every Ella K fragrance is composed by Sonia Constant, a senior perfumer trained at ISIPCA and the Givaudan perfumery school who spent more than two decades creating for one of the world’s most prestigious fragrance houses before founding Ella K in 2017. Widely respected in the industry, she has signed acclaimed compositions for major houses while pursuing, through Ella K, a more intimate and personal form of perfumery. Her signature is refined, cinematic storytelling — each scent is built like a travelogue, translating the light, air and materials of a real place into a composition that feels both couture-polished and quietly emotional, favouring beautiful naturals and modern captives over loud, obvious effects.

Ella K Parfums is an independent French niche house founded in 2017 by master perfumer Sonia Constant. Its concept is olfactory travel: every fragrance is a postcard from a specific place on Earth — a bay, a garden, a desert, a wind — rendered in fine materials and named to read like an entry from a traveller’s journal.
