Bon Parfumeur 502 Iris Cartagena Eau de Parfum
Description
What it smells like
502 Iris Cartagena Eau de Parfum is a velvety iris-and-cocoa gourmand wrapped around a tender memory — dawn, hand in hand, images softly intertwining. It opens with a zesty, aromatic lift of mandarin and mandarin petitgrain over an unexpected infusion of rum and cocoa, warm and inviting from the first spray.
The heart is where its signature blooms: buttery iris paired with creamy Indian sandalwood and vanilla, cooled by a camphoraceous breath of eucalyptus that keeps the sweetness airy and modern. The drydown turns drier and more textured, with papyrus, Java vetiver, coffee absolute and upcycled cocoa butter lending a woody, roasted depth. The overall effect is gourmand but grown-up — cocoa and iris made elegant rather than dessert-like.
Who made it
502 Iris Cartagena was composed by French perfumer Clément Marx, who created both this Eau de Parfum and its richer Extrait counterpart. His signature is balance: rich materials like cocoa and vanilla are kept sophisticated by dry woods and aromatic freshness, so the fragrance reads as cozy but never cloying.
Who it’s for
This is for lovers of soft gourmand and woody-iris fragrances who want warmth with polish. The fresher, eucalyptus-lifted profile of the EDP makes it especially versatile and easy to wear day-to-day, and it’s fully unisex — a comforting, slightly mysterious skin scent.
When to wear it
Iris Cartagena is at its best in cooler weather — autumn and winter — and moves effortlessly from day into evening. Its cocoa-and-vanilla warmth makes it a natural cold-season comfort scent, while the citrus and eucalyptus keep it from feeling heavy on milder days.
About the house
Bon Parfumeur is an independent French perfume house founded in Paris in 2017 by Ludovic Bonneton. Each fragrance wears a three-digit number and a colour placing it within an olfactive family. 502 Iris Cartagena is a limited-edition composition, offered here at Redolia Perfumery as a full 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
