Description
What it smells like
Memo Paris Darling Point is a fruity-gourmand eau de parfum named for the Sydney harbour suburb, and it is the lightest, sunniest thing in the house's current range. It opens on cinnamon, pear and apple — an unusual pairing, because the cinnamon arrives as warm bark rather than bakery spice and keeps the orchard fruit from reading as juice. The heart is a proper floral bouquet: jasmine absolute and bright orange blossom carry most of it, with saffron adding a dry leathery thread and rose absolute filling in the middle. The base is where the gourmand label earns itself — moss, cashmere wood and praline, the praline nutty and caramelised rather than sugary, the moss keeping a green bitterness underneath so the whole thing never collapses into dessert. Expect six to eight hours with generous projection in the first two.
The effect is sunlight on water: fruit, flowers and a warm nutty finish, with just enough moss to keep it adult.
Who made it
Darling Point was composed by Aliénor Massenet and released in 2026 in Memo's Graines Vagabondes line. Massenet wrote Lalibela, Memo's first fragrance, and has worked with the house across some fifty releases since.
It is the newest of her Memo compositions and the most immediately likeable — where African Leather and Odéon take their time, Darling Point is legible from the first spray.
Who it's for
This is for people who want a fruity floral with something underneath it. If you wear pear-and-jasmine compositions and find most of them thin or synthetic by the second hour, the praline-and-moss base here is the difference. It also suits anyone who likes gourmands but not heavy ones — the sweetness is nutty rather than sugary and stays in proportion.
Within Memo it is the easiest entry point. Odéon is its evening sibling, a sugared rose for cold weather, while Darling Point is for daylight and warm air. It is unisex and leans feminine in wear. If you want depth, smoke or leather, this is the wrong end of the Memo catalogue.
When to wear it
Darling Point belongs to spring and summer and to daytime. Warm weather lifts the fruit and the orange blossom, and the moss keeps it from turning cloying in heat — the usual failure mode for fragrances in this category. It suits everyday wear, daytime outings, and evenings out in warm months.
Three sprays is reasonable; this is a generous but not overwhelming fragrance, and it rewards a slightly fuller hand than the heavier Memos do.
About the house
Memo Paris was founded in Paris in 2007 by Clara Molloy and her husband John, and builds each fragrance as a travel note — a place with a particular pull, joined to the house's Carte de Tendre, its emotional map of the world. Every release credits both a perfumer and a visual artist, whose work becomes the gold label on the flacon. Graines Vagabondes, this fragrance's line, holds Memo's more restless compositions. Darling Point Eau de Parfum is available at Redolia Perfumery as a full 75 ml bottle.
Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
