Description
June Thirtieth OG Eau de Parfum is the first fragrance from June Thirtieth, a New York house, and a floral fruity gourmand built on rhubarb, rose and spun sugar. It was composed by Jean-Marc Chaillan of IFF, launched in 2025, and named a finalist for Indie Fragrance of the Year at the 2026 Fragrance Foundation Awards. It comes in a 50 ml bottle.
What It Smells Like
OG opens tart rather than sweet. Rhubarb leads — sharp, pink, faintly vegetal — with cherry behind it and bergamot and lemon cutting across the top. Green leaves sit in that opening too, and they matter more than their position suggests: they keep the fruit from reading as jam in the first five minutes.
The heart is where the fragrance earns its "floral" billing. Rose and violet come forward together, the rose jammy and full, the violet powdery and cool, and a thread of vetiver runs underneath both. That vetiver is the structural decision in the composition — it is dry and rooty, and it stops a rose-and-fruit heart from turning into confectionery.
The base is where it becomes a gourmand. Spun sugar and vanilla arrive with ambrette, cashmeran, cedarwood, amber and musk. Spun sugar is the candy-floss version of sweetness rather than the caramel one: aerated and pale instead of cooked and dark. Ambrette is a musk from hibiscus seed, which gives the drydown a skin-like quality rather than a laundered one, and cashmeran adds that soft woody hum modern bases rely on.
Fragrantica's community ranks the accords musky first at full weight, then green at 89, sweet at 87 and rose at 87, with aromatic, powdery, floral and fruity beneath. That musky-first reading is worth noting, because it is not what the note list predicts: on skin this behaves less like a fruity floral and more like a sweet musk with fruit over it. It is rated 4.58 out of 5 there from 38 votes.
Who Made It
OG was composed by Jean-Marc Chaillan, a French perfumer at IFF who grew up in Grasse and trained at ISIPCA. Fragrantica credits him with around 75 compositions across mainstream and independent houses.
The Fragrance Foundation named this fragrance a finalist for Indie Fragrance of the Year in its 2026 awards, in a category won by LBTY. Beauty. A finalist place in that category is a jury verdict on the composition rather than on sales, which is a useful distinction for a first release from a house nobody had heard of two years earlier.
Who It's For
For people who like fruity florals but find most of them too sugary. The green opening and the vetiver in the heart are doing deliberate work against the sweetness, and the result lands closer to a musk than to a dessert.
It suits wearers who already reach for musky and powdery compositions, and anyone who enjoys rose but wants it fruited rather than classical. If you want a straightforwardly sweet gourmand, this is not quite it — the bitterness in the rhubarb and the dryness in the vetiver are the point.
Fragrantica files it for women and men, and it wears that way: nothing in the structure is gendered beyond habit.
When To Wear It
An eau de parfum is a mid-to-high concentration, typically 15–20% perfume oil, which is why this projects for the first couple of hours and then settles close without disappearing. Expect it to stay on skin for most of a working day.
It works across the year. The green and citrus top keeps it wearable in warm weather, while the sugar, amber and musk base gives it enough body for cold air — autumn and spring suit it best. It is comfortable in an office applied lightly and has enough presence for an evening.
About The House
June Thirtieth is a New York house whose first three eaux de parfum — OG, Vanilla's Muse and Serene Santal — make up Vol. 1, presented for Fall/Winter 2026. All three are composed by IFF perfumers and sold in 50 ml bottles at $230.
The house identity is built around contrast rather than a single signature material, and OG is the clearest statement of it: bright over dark, tart over sweet, green over musk. Browse the rest of the range in the June Thirtieth collection at Redolia.

Fragrance Notes
What's the difference between accords and notes?
Accords are the overall scent families a fragrance gives off — its character at a glance. Notes are the individual ingredients you smell as it develops, from the first spritz (top) to the lasting dry-down (base).
