It opens brighter than you might expect, with bitter orange, grapefruit and a tart burst of blackcurrant bud that lifts the composition before the shadows fall.

The heart is where the spice smoulders: aromatic basil, sweet-hot cinnamon bark and grapefruit-tinged Timut pepper wind around dry cypress. Then the base opens into a deep, balsamic embrace — myrrh and benzoin resins, soft vanilla, Atlas cedar, patchouli and woody Akigalawood, rounded by a musky cosmone glow. The result is a rich amber with textured woods and fiery spices: warm, mystical and long-lasting.

403 Myrrh Shadow was co-composed by perfumers Quentin Bisch and Amélie Jacquin.
