Maurice Roucel
Maurice Roucel is one of the most celebrated master perfumers of his generation — the nose behind modern classics such as Musc Ravageur, Insolence, 24 Faubourg, L'Instant de Guerlain and Envy. A former musician turned perfumer, he is renowned for rich, radiant, sensual compositions built around musks, florals and ambers.
For Hellenist — the Parisian house founded in 2024 by Jean-David Jacoby and dedicated to the olfactive transcription of Greek mythology — Roucel composed La Nuit des 300, a warm, incandescent musk built like a promise whispered skin to skin, weaving lavender, tonka bean and sandalwood into a sensual, magnetic trail. It is offered here at Redolia Perfumery as a full 100 ml bottle.
That a perfumer of his stature composed for so young a house speaks to the ambition of Hellenist, whose mythology collection was recognised with two Indies Awards from Cosmétique Magazine in 2024.
