Francis Kurkdjian
Francis Kurkdjian is one of the most celebrated perfumers of his generation, a French nose whose work spans his own acclaimed house and a long list of prestige creations. For the Parisian house Indult he composed the original 2006 trio that made the brand's name — most famously Tihota, a pure, honeyed Tahitian-vanilla that became a global cult classic and a benchmark for the genre.
His Indult work also includes Isvaraya, a smoky patchouli-and-jasmine ode to spiritual India, and the creamy lychee floral Manakara. Across these compositions his signature is unmistakable: impeccable materials, radiant clarity and an ability to make even the simplest idea — vanilla, patchouli, fruit — feel luxurious, addictive and utterly refined.
