Alessandro Gualtieri

Alessandro Gualtieri is an Italian perfumer and the founder and sole nose of two of the most uncompromising houses in niche perfumery, Nasomatto and its sister house Orto Parisi, both based in Amsterdam. Celebrated for a wild, instinctive, rule-breaking approach, Gualtieri chases intoxication, the body and raw emotion over convention, keeping his formulas deliberately secret and letting each finished scent speak for itself.

For Nasomatto he composed Black Afgano, Baraonda, Silver Musk, Duro, Narcotic V., Sadonaso, Micodelirio. The name translates loosely as “crazy nose”, and the house is known for extrait-strength concentrations and short, provocative names rather than published note lists. For Orto Parisi he composed Boccanera, Viride, Terroni, Cuoium, Risvelium. Orto Parisi explores earthier, more primal ideas of nature, soil and skin, and its scents are famously long-lasting.

Because neither house explains its compositions in detail, sampling on skin matters more than reading notes: many of these scents shift considerably over several hours. Each is offered here at Redolia Perfumery as a full bottle.
