If you love Lattafa Khamrah and want to know what the niche shelf offers above it, here is the honest version. Khamrah, launched in 2022, is cinnamon and nutmeg over dates, praline and tuberose, finishing on vanilla, tonka, amberwood, myrrh and benzoin — spiced date cake with a boozy edge, around $40 to $65. It projects hard and lasts 8 to 10 hours. What it does not do is stay interesting into the drydown, and that is exactly what more money buys. Below are six date, cinnamon and boozy-praline fragrances we stock at Redolia, from $145 to $625, compared against Khamrah and against each other.
What Lattafa Khamrah actually smells like
Sharp, sweet cinnamon with nutmeg behind it, including a few minutes of the slightly synthetic top note maceration softens. Then the date accord arrives — dry, nutty, caramelised, more toffee than jam — which is the reason the bottle sold as well as it did. Praline and tuberose sit underneath, over a warm amber-vanilla-tonka base with myrrh and benzoin.
It is not an original idea: Khamrah tracks the boozy-praline-amber shape Kilian Angels' Share made famous. That is not a criticism — it executes the shape well and outlasts most things near its price. But it does mean the interesting move is sideways, into other treatments of dates and spice, not upward into the same accord.
What more money actually buys in this category
Better materials in the middle, so the fragrance still has structure at hour five instead of flattening into sweet amber. More unusual note choices, because a niche house does not need a formula that pleases everyone. And concentration — several picks below are extraits rather than eau de parfum.
What it does not buy is longevity. Khamrah is a strong performer, and some bottles here are quieter. If maximum projection for minimum money is the goal, keep the Khamrah.
Six niche picks if you love Khamrah
Lorenzo Pazzaglia Coffeee Passion Extrait de Parfum — $145
Notes: cinnamon, coconut, apricot, hazelnut, dates · coffee, chocolate, caramel, tonka bean, heliotrope · coffee, cedar, benzoin, sugar, vanilla, musk. Perfumer: Lorenzo Pazzaglia. Size: 50 ml extrait.
The closest overlap with Khamrah on paper and the cheapest thing here. Cinnamon, dates, tonka and benzoin appear in both, so the family is recognisable immediately. The difference is the middle: where Khamrah uses praline and tuberose, this uses coffee and chocolate, which reads darker and less floral-sweet — closer to tiramisu than to date cake.
It is sweeter than Khamrah in the first hour and better behaved in the fourth. If coffee is the part that appeals, see our coffee perfume guide. Shop Coffeee Passion.

Lorenzo Pazzaglia Darkflorum Extrait de Parfum — $230
Notes: rosemary, pink pepper, petitgrain, lemon, saffron · rum, dates, neroli, jasmine, iris · sandalwood, vetiver, cedar, tonka bean, amber, musk. Perfumer: Lorenzo Pazzaglia. Size: 75 ml.
For people who want the date note without the sugar usually attached to it. Rosemary, lemon and saffron open it herbal and bright, which is not where a Khamrah wearer expects to start; then rum and dates arrive, the same fruit served dry instead of glazed.
It is the most wearable pick here in warm weather and the only one we would send to an office. Against Coffeee Passion, from the same house, it is the grown-up sibling. Shop Darkflorum.
Pernoire Masar Extrait de Parfum — $240
Notes: yuzu, cinnamon, labdanum, clove · amber, honey, tobacco, vanilla · rosewood, tonka bean, leather, sandalwood, animalic notes. Perfumer: Andreas Wilhelm. Size: 50 ml extrait.
Masar swaps Khamrah's sugar for honey and its praline for tobacco. The cinnamon and clove opening feels familiar; everything after it does not. The honey reads natural rather than sticky, the tobacco sits closer to unlit pipe leaf than smoke, and the leather in the base has no Khamrah equivalent.
If Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is a humidor packed with cocoa and dried fruit, Masar is the same humidor with a jar of honey open beside it — lighter, less syrupy, more skin-like. It was the Swiss house Pernoire's first release, in 2020; more in our complete Pernoire guide. Shop Masar.

Sospiro Il Padrino Eau de Parfum — $326
Notes: blackcurrant, rum, amaretto, bergamot · amber, patchouli, sandalwood · vanilla, benzoin, labdanum. Perfumer: Nathalie Templer. Size: 100 ml.
The boozy one. Rum and amaretto do what cognac does in Angels' Share, and blackcurrant adds a tart lift that stops the almond turning marzipan. The note list is short by the standards of this page, deliberately — a simple idea executed cleanly, and it holds for hours instead of collapsing.
Against Khamrah it is drier, more alcoholic and far less spiced — no cinnamon at all. At 100 ml it is also the best value per millilitre in this guide. Shop Il Padrino.
Clive Christian E Gourmande Oriental — $430
Notes: rum, peach · labdanum · clove, syrup, caramel, maple, bourbon vanilla, cinnamon. Perfumer: Angela Stavrevska. Size: 50 ml perfume.
The maximalist. Everything Khamrah suggests, this states — clove and cinnamon over caramel, maple and bourbon vanilla, rum and peach up top. It is the sweetest thing here by a clear margin, and too much for anyone who found Khamrah heavy.
The materials are the point. Maple and syrup notes usually read cheap; here they read edible, and the clove keeps enough bite to stop it turning into pancake. House background in our Clive Christian guide. Shop E Gourmande Oriental.

Boadicea The Victorious Lannosea Eau de Parfum — $625
Notes: lemon, bergamot, dates, rum, pink pepper · orange blossom, coffee, litsea cubeba, fir · oud, cedar, oak, guaiac wood, labdanum, leather. Perfumer: Céline Herbette. 100 ml.
Dates taken as far from dessert as they go. Lannosea opens on the same fruit-and-rum pairing, then hands it to coffee, fir and a base of oud, oak, guaiac and leather. The sweetness burns off within the hour, leaving something dry, woody and faintly smoky.
Khamrah wearers either love this immediately or find it baffling, and the difference is whether you liked the dates or the sugar. If it was the dates, this is the end of the road — our oud guide covers where the base leads. Shop Lannosea.

Which one should you actually buy?
If Khamrah is your only gourmand, start with Coffeee Passion at $145 — the least risky jump, still in the family, and the coffee gives you a reason to own both.
If it was the dates you liked rather than the sugar, go to Darkflorum, which also works in months when Khamrah is unwearable. If it was the spice, but you want something that smells less like dessert and more like a person, Masar. If it was the boozy warmth, Il Padrino.
Il Padrino and Lannosea are the only 100 ml bottles, which changes the maths — at $326, Il Padrino costs less per millilitre than the $145 Coffeee Passion. For the loudest, sweetest version of what Khamrah does, E Gourmande Oriental, with the warning that most people find it a two-spray maximum.
All six sit on our gourmand collection page. If you are near central New Jersey they are open on the counter at our Somerville boutique, which settles it faster than any note list. Questions: info@redolia.com.
Frequently asked questions
What is the niche version of Lattafa Khamrah?
There is no single niche bottle that smells like Khamrah, because Khamrah itself is built on the boozy-praline-amber idea Kilian Angels' Share made famous. The closest things we stock are Lorenzo Pazzaglia Coffeee Passion for the sweet, spiced, date side and Sospiro Il Padrino for the booze.
Is Khamrah worth it?
Yes, at its price. Khamrah gives 8 to 10 hours on skin and longer on clothing, which beats several niche bottles at five times the money. What it does not give you is an interesting second half — the drydown flattens into generic sweet amber. That is the specific thing you pay to improve when you move up.
What does Lattafa Khamrah smell like?
Cinnamon and nutmeg over bergamot, then dates, praline and tuberose, finishing on vanilla, tonka bean, amberwood, myrrh and benzoin. In practice it reads as spiced date cake with a boozy edge. It launched in 2022 and is sweet enough that most people treat it as a cold-weather fragrance.
Khamrah vs Angels' Share — which is better?
Close relatives: cognac, cinnamon, praline and tonka in one; dates, cinnamon, praline and tonka in the other. Angels' Share is better resolved in the drydown, Khamrah projects harder and lasts longer for a tenth of the price. If you own Khamrah, Angels' Share is a lateral move rather than an upgrade.
What is a more expensive fragrance that smells like Khamrah?
Clive Christian E Gourmande Oriental is the maximalist version of the same idea — rum and peach over clove, caramel, maple and bourbon vanilla, at $430 for 50 ml. It is richer and far more syrupy, not a like-for-like swap. For the date note rather than the sweetness, Lorenzo Pazzaglia Darkflorum at $230 is closer.
Does a more expensive gourmand last longer than Khamrah?
Not necessarily, and that is worth saying plainly. A $400 extrait will not automatically beat Khamrah on longevity. What higher-priced compositions do better is the middle and late stages — more distinct materials, less collapse into one sweet note after hour four.
What should I try first if Khamrah is my only gourmand?
Start at $145 with Lorenzo Pazzaglia Coffeee Passion. It shares the cinnamon, date and tonka backbone, so the family is familiar, but the coffee and chocolate give you something Khamrah does not. If it lands, Darkflorum and Pernoire Masar are the logical next two.
