Fugazzi Perfumes: A Complete Guide to Every Fragrance (2026)

Fugazzi Angel Dust, Vanilla Haze and Workaholic perfume bottles

By Redolia · Published September 21, 2026

Fugazzi is an Amsterdam fragrance house founded in 2018 by Bram Niessink, who had just finished a fashion management degree in the city. The name comes from 'fugazi', Italian-American slang for fake, borrowed from mob films — the house uses it to mean something elusive rather than counterfeit. The style is modern and deliberately unserious about tradition: gourmands with hazelnut and coconut milk, a coffee-and-rose scent called Workaholic, a passionfruit oud. Bottles are plain, prices run $175 for 100 ml eau de parfum and $255 for extrait, and the perfumers are named. We stock eleven Fugazzi products at Redolia, and this guide covers all of them.

The story of Fugazzi

Niessink grew up around cosmetics and thought the industry lacked imagination. He founded Fugazzi after graduating in 2018, building the brand around what he calls "storysmelling" — the idea that a fragrance should carry a scene rather than just a note list. Whether or not you buy the language, the compositions back it up: the names are jokes, the juice is not.

The house works with established perfumers instead of an in-house nose. Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel and Ilias Ermenidis have composed most of what we carry, sometimes together and sometimes alone. That is unusual for a brand this young, and it shows in the formulas, which are more polished than the irreverent branding suggests.

The range splits cleanly in two. There are the soft, wearable ones — Angel Dust, Vanilla Haze — and the louder, odder ones — Passionfroudh, Pomegranoudh, Born to Stand Out. Most customers start with the first group and graduate to the second.

Every Fugazzi fragrance we carry, explained

Fugazzi Angel Dust Eau de Parfum

Notes: Calabrian bergamot, pepper · cashmeran · cashmere musk, white amber. Perfumers: Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel and Ilias Ermenidis. Released: 2021. Concentration: Eau de Parfum, 20%. Price: $175 / 100 ml.

The house's quiet one, and the bottle we hand people who say they want to smell good without being noticed. Pepper and bergamot give it a brief snap at the top, then cashmeran takes over — warm, slightly sweet, with the texture of a cashmere sweater. Cashmere musk and white amber keep the drydown close to the skin.

Best for: everyday wear, the office, layering under something louder. Who should buy it: anyone shopping the skin-scent category — see our guide to niche skin-scent musks for how it compares to Glossier You and Molecule 01. Shop Angel Dust.

Fugazzi Angel Dust Extrait de Parfum

Notes: the Angel Dust accord at extrait strength. Released: 2024. Price: $255 / 100 ml.

The same composition with more weight behind it. It trades the eau de parfum's first-hour lift for density and length, becoming a skin scent faster but staying there longer. If you already wear Angel Dust and want it in winter, this is the version. Shop Angel Dust Extrait.

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze Eau de Parfum

Notes: almond, hazelnut, coconut milk, mandarin · vanilla, tonka bean, jasmine · caramel, musk, cashmere wood, amber. Perfumers: Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel and Ilias Ermenidis. Released: 2024. Price: $175 / 100 ml.

The bestseller, and the most immediately likeable thing the house makes. Almond and hazelnut arrive first with coconut milk behind them, which makes the opening read creamy rather than sugary. Vanilla and tonka build the middle, and caramel in the base takes it as close to dessert as it gets without tipping over.

Best for: autumn and winter, evenings, anyone who likes gourmands. Compared with the extrait: the eau de parfum is brighter and nuttier; the extrait is heavier. Shop Vanilla Haze.

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze Extrait de Parfum

Notes: hazelnut, coconut milk, lemon · bourbon vanilla, cashmeran, tonka bean, clove · saffron, caramel, musk. Released: 2025. Price: $255 / 100 ml.

Not just a stronger Vanilla Haze — the formula changes. Lemon replaces mandarin at the top, clove and saffron add spice, and cashmeran gives it a woody spine the eau de parfum does not have. It is the more grown-up of the pair and the better cold-weather buy. Shop Vanilla Haze Extrait.

Fugazzi Workaholic Extrait de Parfum

Notes: floral notes · coffee, Bulgarian rose · vanilla, amber, white musk. Perfumers: Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel and Ilias Ermenidis. Released: 2019. Concentration: Extrait, 30%. Price: $255 / 100 ml.

One of the earliest Fugazzi releases and still one of the best. Coffee and Bulgarian rose is an unusual pairing — the rose stops the coffee turning into a dessert, the coffee stops the rose turning into a classic floral. Vanilla, amber and white musk hold it together underneath.

Best for: cold mornings, work, anyone bored of sweet gourmands. See how it sits against the wider category in our coffee perfume guide. Shop Workaholic.

Fugazzi Orange Crush Eau de Parfum

Notes: orange · Iso E Super · white amber. Perfumers: Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel and Ilias Ermenidis. Released: 2022. Concentration: Eau de Parfum, 20%. Price: $175 / 100 ml.

Three materials, nothing hidden. Orange at the top, Iso E Super doing the woody-transparent work in the middle, white amber underneath. The house calls it velvet orange, which is fair — it is a citrus that never turns sharp or soapy, and it lasts far longer than a cologne has any right to. Shop Orange Crush.

Fugazzi Passionfroudh Extrait de Parfum

Notes: passionfruit, mango, black tea, ginger · gurjun balsam, black pepper · oud, cypriol. Perfumer: Ilias Ermenidis. Released: 2025. Price: $255 / 100 ml.

The clever one. Tropical fruit over oud sounds like it should not work, and for the first ten minutes it is all passionfruit and mango with a ginger bite. Then black tea dries it out, and gurjun balsam and cypriol pull it somewhere smoky and resinous. By the drydown the fruit is a memory and the oud is doing the talking.

Best for: evenings, autumn, anyone who wants oud without the traditional rose-and-saffron framing. Shop Passionfroudh.

Fugazzi Pomegranoudh Extrait de Parfum

Notes: pomegranate, red fruits, bergamot · oud, patchouli · amber, vanilla, musk. Released: 2026. Price: $255 / 100 ml.

The newest release and the sibling to Passionfroudh — same fruit-meets-oud idea, different fruit and a softer landing. Pomegranate and red fruits open tart, oud and patchouli take over, and amber, vanilla and musk round the base off more sweetly than Passionfroudh does. Shop Pomegranoudh.

Fugazzi Born to Stand Out Extrait de Parfum

Notes: bergamot, geranium · rose, pepper, Akigalawood · cedar, tobacco, leather, amber. Perfumer: Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel. Released: 2024. Price: $180 / 50 ml.

This is the Fugazzi half of a 2024 collaboration with the Korean house BORNTOSTANDOUT, and the naming confuses people. Fugazzi made this one; BORNTOSTANDOUT made its own version called Fugazzi. They are different fragrances. This one is rose and pepper over cedar, tobacco and leather — the driest, most classical thing in the Fugazzi range.

Best for: evenings and cold weather. If you want the other half of the story, see our BORNTOSTANDOUT guide. Shop Born to Stand Out.

The candle and the body lotion

Two non-fragrance products round out the range. Fugazzi Vanilla Haze Scented Candle ($58, 200 g) puts the Vanilla Haze accord into a clear glass vessel, and Fugazzi Angel Dust Body Lotion ($40, 250 ml) is a genuinely useful way to extend Angel Dust on dry skin — musks hold far better on moisturised skin.

Which Fugazzi fragrance should you choose?

Start with Vanilla Haze if you like anything sweet. It is the most immediately likeable bottle in the range and the one customers come back for. Start with Angel Dust instead if you want something you can wear to work without thinking about it.

Choose Workaholic if coffee and rose sounds interesting rather than odd — it is the most distinctive thing the house makes and the oldest formula still in the line. Choose Passionfroudh or Pomegranoudh if you want oud; Passionfroudh is drier and smokier, Pomegranoudh sweeter and rounder, so most people want one rather than both.

Skip the extraits at first. Both Angel Dust and Vanilla Haze exist in eau de parfum at $80 less, and the eau de parfum versions project better. Buy the extrait as a second bottle once you know you love the scent. New to niche in general? Read how to choose your first niche perfume.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fugazzi perfume worth it?

Fugazzi sits at $175 for a 100 ml eau de parfum and $255 for an extrait, which is mid-range for niche. What you are paying for is composition rather than packaging — the bottles are deliberately plain. If you like modern, slightly unusual gourmands and woody-musks, it is good value; if you want traditional French perfumery, look elsewhere.

What does Fugazzi Angel Dust smell like?

Angel Dust opens with Calabrian bergamot and pepper, then settles into cashmeran — a soft, warm woody material — over cashmere musk and white amber. The house describes it as a fragrance for the introvert, and it wears that way: close to the skin, quiet, and comfortable rather than attention-seeking.

Angel Dust Eau de Parfum vs Extrait: which is better?

Same accord, different weight. The 2021 eau de parfum at 20% projects more in the first hour; the 2024 extrait is denser and lasts longer but sits closer to the skin. Buy the eau de parfum if you want people to notice it, the extrait if you already love it and want it richer.

Does Fugazzi last long?

The eau de parfum versions are concentrated at 20% and generally give a solid working day, while the extraits run longer but quieter. Angel Dust is the softest of the range by design; Workaholic and Passionfroudh have the most presence.

Is Fugazzi unisex?

Yes, every fragrance in the line is sold as unisex and nothing in the range is gender-coded. Vanilla Haze and Angel Dust lean soft and cosy, while Passionfroudh and Born to Stand Out lean darker and woodier.

Who makes Fugazzi perfumes?

Fugazzi was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Bram Niessink, who studied fashion management in the city before starting the brand. The fragrances are composed by working perfumers including Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel and Ilias Ermenidis, and are produced in Europe.

What does the name Fugazzi mean?

It comes from 'fugazi', Italian-American slang meaning fake, picked up from mob films and youth culture. The house uses it to mean something elusive rather than counterfeit — an impression you cannot quite pin down. They call their approach 'storysmelling'.

What is the difference between Fugazzi Born to Stand Out and the BORNTOSTANDOUT brand?

They are two separate houses that collaborated in 2024. Fugazzi Born to Stand Out Extrait de Parfum is the Fugazzi-made half, composed by Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel; the Korean house BORNTOSTANDOUT made its own version called Fugazzi. We stock both, and they smell different.

Which Fugazzi should I buy first?

Start with Vanilla Haze if you like gourmands or Angel Dust if you want something soft and woody for everyday wear. Both are $175 for 100 ml, which is the cheapest way into the house. Passionfroudh is the one to try if you want fruit and oud rather than sweetness.
